Introducing Cooking to VulcanVerse – The First of Many Professions!

Today marks the long-awaited arrival of a brand-new – in fact, the first profession to land in VulcanVerse – cooking! For those of you who have been gathering resources and wondering what to do with all that fish, foraged items, and various supplies, the answer has finally landed. The introduction of cooking adds a whole new layer of strategy and survival to VulcanVerse, and the profession is packed with exciting features that will keep you crafting your way to culinary glory.

What is Cooking in VulcanVerse?

Cooking allows players to gather various resources, like fish and foraged items, to craft consumable food. These food items are critical for refilling the Satiety bar, which plays a huge role in the Stamina system. In other words, eating the food you craft is essential to keeping your stamina up and surviving the harsh world of VulcanVerse. Yes, we know, the food vending lizardmen will take a hit, but it’s time your avatar got down to business.

Cooking isn’t just about survival – it also gives you some neat buffs and boosts that can give you the upper hand in-game.

The Cooking Process

The cooking process is simple but requires a bit of patience and some strategy. You gather the necessary ingredients and set up the crafting process. Once you start cooking, the action takes time depending on the recipe – during this period, you’ll need to stay still. If you start moving or perform actions like fishing, the cooking will be canceled. No, despite the advice you’ve been given your whole life, your avatar can’t multitask! Thankfully, your ingredients won’t be lost if you cancel or move mid-craft – so no need to worry about wasting hard-earned resources.

To cancel the cooking process, all you need to do is press any movement key or hit the “Cancel craft” button, which will allow you to move freely again. Otherwise, just sit back, stay still, and wait for your succulent meal to be prepared. Once cooked, your food will automatically stack in your inventory, ready for consumption.

The Benefits of Cooking

Beyond filling up your Satiety bar, certain recipes provide additional buffs to your gameplay. These buffs might include faster stamina regeneration or even the ability to use consumables while on the move – perfect for when you’re in a pinch during combat or exploring dangerous terrain. The effects of food can be powerful, and different dishes provide different benefits, so it’s worth experimenting with what works best for your style of play.

Here are just a few examples of some of the mouth-watering dishes you can cook:

  • Bonecrest Stew: Refills 40% of Satiety over 20 seconds.
  • Grilled Lavagnaw: Refills 70% of Satiety over 20 seconds.
  • Adamantium Steak: Hmm, sounds.. yummy?! Refills 100% of Satiety, blocks Satiety consumption for two hours, and increases stamina regeneration by 10%.

What’s more, some special recipes can provide bonuses in certain quadrants. The Pot of Sandscale Stew, when consumed in the Desert of Notus, hunger refilling is increased to 40%. There are more like this – see if you can figure out what they are!

These are just a few examples, and there’s plenty more to discover as you experiment with recipes and ingredients.

A Craft Queue for Efficiency

If you want to prepare multiple servings of a dish, you can set up a crafting queue. This allows you to craft multiple items one after another automatically. However, you can only queue up one type of craft at a time, and each craft is processed individually. Starting a new queue requires canceling the currently active one, so plan your cooking sessions wisely!

Don’t ever let anyone tell you you’re not VulcanVerse’s very own Gordon Ramsey!

The Power of Hestia’s Blessing

No VulcanVerse kitchen would be complete without a bit of divine intervention, and when it comes to cooking, Hestia, the goddess of the hearth, has you covered.

Players who own the Hestia God NFT will have access to a unique buff when cooking, giving them significant advantages. Hestia’s Hearthstone ability allows the owner to cook food more efficiently, increasing the speed of their cooking process and providing enhanced benefits from the food they create. This is perfect for players who plan to specialize in the cooking profession, as it not only makes crafting quicker but also boosts the effects of the food, allowing for stronger stamina regeneration and longer-lasting buffs.

For those who don’t own the Hestia NFT, worry not. There are special hearth locations scattered across the VulcanVerse where players can benefit from Hestia’s power. Once the Hestia deity is activated at one of the shrines located throughout VulcanVerse, when visiting these specific hearth locations, players will receive a cooking buff that improves the efficiency of their cooking, even if they don’t have the Hestia NFT. The buff in these locations speeds up the cooking process and provides slightly enhanced benefits from the food, making these spots perfect for batch cooking.

Here are the locations where non-Hestia NFT owners can access this cooking buff:

  • Boreas 40.35 (Fortress of the Wind)
  • Notus 121.76 (near Shrine of Tethys)
  • Arcadia 125.41 (Woodlands of Ambrosia)
  • Hades 25.98 (Hades Port)
  • Vulcan City 77.51 (Arcadia side)

While the buff at these locations won’t be quite as strong as the one provided by the Hestia NFT, it’s still a fantastic boost that will make cooking faster and more rewarding for all players.

Cooking is set to be a major part of the VulcanVerse experience, adding increased depth to both resource management and strategy. Whether you’re looking to stay energized for long quests or want to buff your character for combat, cooking has something for everyone. And remember, this is only the first of a series of professions – so, gather those fish, forage the land, and start cooking – the kitchens of VulcanVerse are officially open!
