A year after the Conclave of the Four Winds, VulcanVerse’s north and east are healing. Boreas and Arcadia enjoy cautious prosperity; trade flows and hearths burn warm. But in the Desert of Notus, where the once-mighty Great River has dried to a scar of sand and rusted water wheels, the land has only grown harsher under the baking sun.

Among the ruins of Iskandria, two powers fight over what’s left. The fading Iskandrians, once the power that mattered in Notus, still trains Myrmidon soldiers beneath cracked murals of Achilles, attempting to hold a line against collapse with information, ambushes and clever counter-plays. Opposite them stand incomers; the mysterious Priests of Khemet – foreign cultists with Anubite warriors, more beast than man, and giant scarabs and sand-wyrms at their command. To some, the scattered tribes of the desert, they bring protection and stability from the Spartoi and other dangerous creatures. To others, the allies of the Iskandrians in particular, they bring poison, curses and impossible “agreements”.

Everything changes when explorers uncover the a lost temple hidden beneath the sands. There they find the first Sands of Time: bright, glassy grains that spiral upward in a shimmer of gold and purple when disturbed, as if time itself is flowing in reverse. The Priests of Khemet, tracking the Iskandrian explorers and arriving before Myrmidon warriors can secure the sands for Iskandria, claim the sands can rewind fate – restoring water to canals, reviving lost districts, even pulling fallen champions back from the brink – but always at a cost in blood, memory or years. The Iskandrians don’t believe them… but can’t afford to ignore them.
The gods are watching. Hermes and Hestia see the dunes as more than trade routes now; they feel the flow of time being tampered with. Other gods, who were never satisfied with peace, smile at the chaos to come. Rumours spread of battles fought twice, warriors who strike as if they’ve already seen the outcome, and assassins stepping between moments. The Sands of Time have opened a rift in Notus, can you make your mark in the chaos?
In part one of this new Berserk season, Sands of Time – Discovery, you step into Notus at the moment everything can still be decided. Myrmidon loyalists, Khemetite priests, smugglers and desert beasts are all racing to claim the power of the sands.
In Notus, as the restless dunes shift beneath your feet, one simple truth rules: Whoever commands the sands, commands the future.
