Vulcan Forged’s intentions for VulcanVerse are very clear. We aim to be the leading metaverse MMORPG based on blockchain technology and real ownership. We want to make clear that this is the only way forward. For this reason, we have increased our investment in VulcanVerse and hired extra developers to reach our goal. When it comes to VulcanVerse, we’re nothing but serious. Read all about it below!
We started building VulcanVerse just over two years ago. Back then, we had an excellent idea, and our (at the time, small) team started building based on this idea. Over time professionals were hired, and it turned out that the basic structure created so far wasn’t solid enough to expand on. Creating a huge MMORPG while using completely new blockchain technology is extremely difficult and takes time and a lot of planning. Meetings were held, plans were thrashed out and we made the decision to increase funding and expand the team — this wasn’t announced publicly at the time. But now, we can proudly say we are three months into this process, and the progress on VulcanVerse is looking great — closely matching our future vision for the game. We can slowly start to integrate new additions and expansions again. Exciting times!
All the best games have solid foundations and VulcanVerse is the same, a robust base structure is needed to enable us to build on the extensive plans we have for the game. We’re planning PvE, dungeons, arenas, raids, expansions like Troy and Tartarus, and much more! To ensure that the base architecture of VulcanVerse is rock solid, we hired an extra team of experts a few months ago. This team has been working tirelessly to create the perfect foundation for VulcanVerse. The new team cooperates with the existing VulcanVerse developers, but they are 100% dedicated to the refactoring process (the base code and architecture). This will future-proof the game- a new base code and structure can also be used for expansions like Troy, in fact it is a solid base for any metaverse in actuality.
Needless to say, we believe in VulcanVerse- this is why we have increased our efforts. All work taking place is based on documentation and a solid plan, all done in a professional manner. This approach will be discussed further in the topic below about Troy.
Troy will be the first major expansion for VulcanVerse. Both ‘worlds’ will co-exist and be part of a mechanism where players have to travel between each world as part of the expanded gameplay. The team started brainstorming sessions about Troy and used some community input. Based on this, a game design document (GDD) has been drafted, which will act as a base ‘manual’ for the project managers and development team. Below is an image taken from the GDD:
In this picture, you can see the a village and small outlying plot clusters, consisting of a predetermined number of player plots that form a distinct unit from it and neutral lands around the village such as foraging lands, mountains forests and water, to support its income and building functionality.
No doubt this picture will be food for speculation; please be aware this is part of the brainstorming phase. Nothing has been determined yet. But you can see we are taking the design phase seriously.
VulcanVerse is being tested in cycles. The flow is as follows:
Release for testing -> feedback -> feedback fixes -> release for testing again -> feedback / no feedback -> go back two steps / live release to the public.
The community test group plays a very important role in the testing cycle. As these are experienced players who spend loads of time inside the ‘Verse on a daily basis, they are able to find bugs and forward feedback that the QA team is not even able to find.
Statement from the Development Team:
“The public testing group is a valuable and important auditory for our game and community feedback also. We have an internal system of gathering comments, ideas, and questions from users. The QA team, game designers, and management are monitoring this closely.
As of this moment, every discovered bug is registered and resolved on average within 2–3 days.
We are always open to the wishes of the players and try to quickly implement new ideas and features or add an additional internal game so that the players and especially our community retain an interest in our updates and new game scenarios in VulcanVerse.”

We have much more to come, at various stages of both design and build that we really want to tell you about — but we can’t.. for now at least. Why spoil the surprise?
