Step Into a Richer VulcanVerse: Big Updates Today, Next Month and in the Future

At Vulcan Studios, our VulcanVerse team have been hard at it, developing the future realm of the gods that you deserve. Take a look at what’s coming, both in today’s update and in the future following on from our previous VulcanVerse updates.

New Character Tools, Tutorials & Gameplay Mechanics

Today marks a major leap forward for VulcanVerse with the rollout of the latest update. Players will immediately notice a fresh character creation system complete with a revamped backdrop, intuitive new UI, and expanded customization options including hairstyles, beards, tattoos, and scars! First-time users are now greeted with a cinematic introduction and guided tutorial from the one and only Cadmilus, making onboarding smoother than ever. A new “First Mission” quest ensures players understand the basics right away.

Alongside this, avatar combat has been enhanced with damage mechanics and the addition of the bow, while builders gain access to the new Roman Villa NFT and additional construction tools. Even Vulcanites have received visual and animation upgrades — all adding depth, immersion, and polish to the evolving world. Coming Soon

In some big changes coming soon to VulcanVerse – we recently turned off XP earning for foraging alongside chest distribution. This was due to an unsustainable economic imbalance and excessive stockpiling and was planned as a short term measure until a new system arrived. At the time of writing, there are 1,500+ chests with players and each chest results in a prize, whether an NFT, token voucher or otherwise. The rate at which players were able to grind to get enough materials (alongside the XP earn to get ELY) to then exchange for chests was clearly too high, though it worked for more casual players.

Needless to say, switching off XP for foraging resulted in some expected disappointment! The Vulcan Studios team have, however, held recent meetings on a better way forward here. It has long been the plan that all inventory items will have a use, whether through professions or quests. While the work to build the professions system continues, we will shortly be rolling out some exciting changes to VulcanVerse that will no doubt change the way all players see the game.

Leaderboards, Quests and XP Distribution

XP will be able to be earned for foraging – but all of this will be quest based and therefore limited to prevent abuse. The VulcanVerse team are expanding the in-house quest builder, that will allow for greater options and a real mix of events, including recurring quests that involve foraging.

In a huge update, we’re bringing back the challenge – leaderboards, with weighted prizes. What does this mean? Yes, those that do most will be rewarded – but we’re not only rewarding those who have the time to grind. We’re talking tiered leaderboards and achievement systems. We will also be rewarding those that give back – those who bring VulcanVerse to the masses.

And what about Tartarus and Vulcan Royale? Tartarus is almost ready and Vulcan Royale will follow. Expect leaderboards and a reward system for Tartarus also, discussions are ongoing as to which of this will fall under the overall VulcanVerse leaderboards and which will be Tartarus / dungeon specific. We know you’re eager – those demons are waiting for you but you’re a demi-god in training, you’ll show them who’s boss – won’t you..?

Future Developments

A reminder of what the team are planning for the longer term in VulcanVerse –

  • Expanded Professions & Levelling: New skill trees and profession paths (e.g., hunter, blacksmith, scholar), plus level caps raised well beyond L7 with meaningful milestones, titles, and stat boosts.
  • NPCs With Purpose: Hundreds of new NPCs with quests, branching dialogue, secrets, and roles tied to guilds or factions. If you can’t do it, there’s an NPC who can – for a cost.
  • A Larger, Wilder VulcanVerse: Land expansion between settlements to allow for exploration, questing, and neutral event zones. Based on gamebook lore — deep forests, ruined temples, cursed marshes, farmland, and more.
  • Settlements & Civic Projects: Towns, villages, and guild-based zones will emerge. These will include local governance, civic upgrades, and play roles for non-landowners as well.
  • True RPG Mechanics: Dungeons, guilds, factions, and player-led progression will push VV further into MMORPG territory, both on PC and mobile.
  • A Living World of Items & Mystery: Potions, relics, scrolls, cursed objects and more will fuel quests, scavenger hunts, crafting and custom player quests.
  • Game Economy Rework: Major updates to ELY earning, foraging, upkeep, decay systems, boss mechanics, blueprint crafting and PvP staking will reshape how players engage with resources.
  • Coming to PC & Mobile: VulcanVerse will be fully playable across platforms, with both cosmetic Web2 and Web3 (true ownership) item integration.
