For the first time ever, Vulcan Forged is releasing collectible NFT avatar characters! We’ll be revealing many use cases and buffs in the coming weeks and months for these fun collectibles. Arcadia Wave 1- Centaurs make up the first 500 of an eventual 10,000 unique Vulcan’s Phalanx characters. Unique you say? Yes — in both look, name and lore!
Found amongst the grasslands and forests of the Gardens of Arcadia are centaurs, majestic and powerful, these warriors are small in number these days, but make their presence known. You’ll have heard of Chiron, wisest and most learned of the centaurs — famous for his wisdom and knowledge. Maybe you know of Velosina of the Sacred Stables, known for her skills with a bow, but also her musical ability (that bone flute!). But what of the other centaur warriors, the first of Vulcan’s Phalanx? Must they wander, aimlessly across the Arcadian plains, loitering outside taverns, drinking and fighting among themselves?
No. The gods have prepared a glorious purpose for many of the worthy centaurs- they are to become companions to the mortals visiting Vulcan’s realms.
Let the Gods Decide
Centaurs make up the Arcadia Wave 1 of Vulcan’s Phalanx. Each centaur is a unique NFT avatar, from look to name and lore- each one different to the one before. Phalanx avatars bring benefits to the players who own them in the form of small buffs, such as percentage multipliers throughout the ecosystem (more on this soon).
How do you get a centaur companion? On Tuesday 26th April at midday GMT, visit the link (we’ll publish it everywhere) and convene with the gods..
Pay the 25 $PYR fee- an offering to the gods, and in exchange they will summon a centaur. You can choose to accept this centaur or petition the gods for one more roll of the dice — but only one, for a further 5 $PYR offering.
Once the transaction is complete, you will discover your companion’s name and background; everything you need to know about your own unique centaur avatar, who you can proudly display in your My Forge profile (coming soon) and on your profile picture.
Five Waves of Unique Avatar Companions per Quadrant
Worried you’ll miss one of the 500 unique centaur Phalanx characters? Never fear! There will be 10,000 Vulcan’s Phalanx collectible NFT avatar characters in total, each one unique, spread over five waves. Wave 1 consists of 500 avatars from each quadrant of VulcanVerse, appearing in this order:
Vulcan’s Phalanx Wave 1
Gardens of Arcadia- 500 Centaurs (April 2022)
Mountains of Boreas- 500 Minotaurs (May 2022)
Desert of Notus- 500 Sphinxes (July 2022)
Underworld of Hades- 500 Lamias (August 2022)
We expect Wave 1 to be complete in August, subject to.. well, the will of the gods! Remember, there are 5x Waves in total, each with unique collectible characters. Wave 2 will begin in October 2022.

Can I Sell My Avatar / Can I Buy An Avatar on the Marketplace?
As an NFT, yes, you can buy and sell Vulcan’s Phalanx avatars on the marketplace. But why would you want to sell? You’ll grow fond of your collectible centaur friend we’re sure..
For those missing out at Arcadia Wave 1 launch, buying later in our marketplace will be the way to get hold of an avatar.
Are Some Avatars Rarer Than Others?
Yes. There are 500 centaur avatars, each unique, but some will come with better armour, a rarer weapon. Look out for a future article detailing these differences. For example, rarer items may mean better perks..
I Selected to ‘Decline, Make One Further Offering’ But Didn’t Make The Transaction. What Happens Now?
Vulcan will banish you forever from his realm! Not really. You’ll get the first companion that you declined. Be warned- he won’t be happy with the previous rejection.
Where Do I Find The Full List of Buffs / Perks?
Have patience wormling. It’s coming in that future article we mentioned that will also detail rarity. Expect the odd multiplier, special achievements, that sort of thing.
Is There Synergy Of Some Sort?
Yes- quadrant families work together. More than one of the same creature can work together too to your increased benefit.
Are These Characters I Can Use in VulcanVerse?
No, they are unique collectible NFT avatars for your My Forge profile. They’ll give you small buffs, multipliers, that sort of thing. But more on that soon.. as NFTs, you can buy sell and trade them in the marketplace.
I Missed The Launch, But I Want A Centaur!
Sign into My Forge and go to the marketplace. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to buy one there.. but we have no say over the resale price..
My Transaction Hasn’t Gone Through / I’m Still Waiting?!
Have patience.. there will likely be many people all trying to get an avatar at the same time. You may be making offerings to the gods, but there are still limits.
