The recent move from ELY to PYR as the native gas token of the Elysium blockchain was a foundational upgrade designed to simplify the ecosystem, unify utility under PYR, and pave the way for the next major evolution of Vulcan Forged: VulcanX Everything.
You’ll have met Pyro, Vulcan’s best friend and the mascot of the VulcanX Everything dApp, here to guide you through the changes (watch the video back here). By now you’ll know that Everything is not simply a new website. It’s a complete ecosystem hub where games, rewards, NFTs, trading, quests, leaderboards, and utility all connect together.
Perhaps most importantly, every part of the new ecosystem contributes towards the larger PYR powered economy.
So, What Is VulcanX Everything?
At its core, Everything aims to bring the entire Vulcan Forged ecosystem together under a single experience.
Instead of jumping between different websites, interfaces, and reward systems; yes, we admit it wasn’t ideal(!), users can access games, quests, leaderboards, NFTs, rewards, and ecosystem services from one location.
- Play games.
- Complete quests.
- Earn rewards.
- Collect NFTs.
- Compete on leaderboards.
- Take part in a growing ecosystem economy.
Everything becomes connected and easy to understand for users.
The New Quest and Chest System
One of the most exciting additions is the new quest-driven reward structure.
Users can complete activities across the ecosystem to earn chests.
These activities may include:
- Playing games
- Trading
- Exploring ecosystem features
- Collecting rewards
- Completing challenges
The key point is simple:
Quests earn chests.
But the real excitement begins when those chests are opened, as:
- Some chests contain rewards.
- Some contain NFTs.
And some reveal something entirely new:

What Are Shards?
Shards are not a currency, they’re not PYR and they’re not immediately spendable rewards. Instead, shards act as competitive points that determine your position on weekly leaderboards.
Put simply, the more shards you accumulate, the higher you climb and the higher you climb, the larger your share of the weekly PYR reward pool.

It’s a simple system on the surface, but it creates a powerful competitive loop that rewards active participation throughout the ecosystem.
Weekly PYR Pools
Every week, players compete for a share of the PYR reward pool.
A typical path might look like this:
- Complete quests
- Earn multiple chests
- Open those chests
- Reveal shards
- Climb the rankings
- Earn a larger percentage of the weekly PYR pool
The more active and successful a player is, the better positioned they become. Plenty of reason to dive into those games, to trade and to use Agora, our marketplace. Meaningful actions earn chests!
Rather than rewarding a single activity, Everything encourages participation across the entire ecosystem.
Leaderboards Matter More Than Ever
Leaderboards now play a central role in the reward economy. Performance in games can contribute toward shard acquisition and ranking. For example, a strong finish on a leaderboard may significantly improve a player’s position.
This means skill, participation, consistency, and activity all become important factors. The goal is to create ongoing competition rather than one-off rewards.
Frenzy Pass and the Reward Engine
Pyro also explains how the Frenzy Pass fits into the broader system.
Users acquire a Frenzy Pass using PYR. That creates direct utility for the ecosystem token. As participation grows, more users acquire passes and more passes contribute toward larger reward pools.
Larger reward pools attract more competition. More competition drives more activity. More activity increases ecosystem utility. And greater ecosystem utility increases demand for PYR.
This is the flywheel Everything is designed to create.
Note that games can be played without a Frenzy Pass, but chests cannot be earned without one. You need to be in it to win it and being in it means holding a valid Frenzy Pass. A Frenzy Pass costs 30 PYR and lasts 30 days.

NFTs With Utility
Pyro also highlights an important philosophy shift regarding NFTs. The goal is not simply to distribute collectibles. The NFTs earned throughout Everything are intended to have purpose.
While specific utilities will vary across games and dApps, the broader vision is clear:
“Useful NFTs, not just collectible NFTs.”
As the ecosystem expands, NFTs can become integrated into gameplay, progression, access, rewards, cosmetics, boosts, and future systems rather than existing solely as speculative assets.

The recent ELY-to-PYR migration placed PYR at the heart of Elysium as the native gas token. This means all blockchain activity now ultimately flows through PYR, creating a much more unified ecosystem than before.
